Hello, my name is Trev Batstone. At the young age of 65, I decided to take up the hobby of making woodcrafts, particularly items created with the scroll saw. My workshop power tools include a table saw, circular saw, jigsaw, belt sander, a combination belt & disc sander, drum sander, Oscillating sander, portable planer, a 12" thickness planer, bandsaw, air compressor & brad nailer, router and router table, Dremel tools and accessories, , drill press, and of course, my scroll saw. I enjoy this woodcraft hobby so much that I thought I would create this blog to display my created projects and post comments about the scrolling and woodcraft hobby. I hope you enjoy your time here, and thanks for stopping by.

Canada Day Fireworks 2007

Vancouver, BC - July 1st, 2007

In late May 2007, Vancouver city council once again decided to allow Canada Day fireworks to be held over Burrard Inlet. This was the first time that fireworks had been held on Canada Day in Vancouver since 2003. Council cancelled the annual event following the 2003 fireworks due to unruly spectators that caused chaos and willfull damage in the streets following the fireworks.

With the five-year absence of fireworks on Canada Day, tens of thousands lined the area of Canada Place, the Coal Harbour seawall, and Stanley Park to view the momentus and colourful event. Thousands more watched intently from the shores of North and West Vancouver, as this year's event hosted two fireworks barges, one near Canada Place, and the other situated on the inlet at Dundarave in West Vancouver. The 20-minute spectacle which began at 10:30 P.M. did not disappoint, as everyone that witnessed the event seemed to be enjoying the blazing pyros and celebrated our proud heritage day of Canada's 140th Birthday.
